More than just a show, this annual production - inspired by the 1844 Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale that also sparked Disney's "Frozen" - is a a vital opportunity for local children and families to experience the transformative power of the arts.
Producing "Snow Queen" is a significant undertaking, requiring immense dedication from our talented local cast and crew. Yet, every hour of effort is worthwhile because it allows us to achieve something profoundly important: making high-quality, professional-level arts accessible right here in Delaware. By bringing this mesmerizing story to life, we ignite imaginations, foster a love for dance and theatre in young audiences, and provide invaluable performance experience for our aspiring local artists.
The audience gets swept away by the unforgettable journey of Gerda, a young girl whose dearest friend, Kai, is taken captive by the malevolent Snow Queen. Following her heart through enchanted forests and gardens, and aided by Princesses, Gypsies, and Guardian Angels, Gerda's quest is a beautiful testament to friendship, courage, and the power of love to melt even the iciest heart.
