Hooked on Crochet
​
June 16 & 17 • 5 - 6:30PM • Ages 8 and up
​
This hands-on class introduces students to the creative and relaxing art of crochet. Designed for beginners and curious makers, students will learn basic crochet stitches, proper tool use, and yarn handling while building confidence stitch by stitch. The class will also introduce the fundamentals of reading a crochet pattern, helping students understand common symbols and instructions. With guided practice and creative freedom, students will work toward completing a simple crochet project to take home. This class is perfect for those new to crochet or looking to strengthen their foundational skills.

Into the Vanishing Point

Step into the world of illusion and depth! This class introduces young artists to the fundamentals of one-point perspective drawing. Through guided lessons and creative projects, students will draw roads, hallways, rooms, tunnels, and imaginative scenes that appear to stretch far into the distance. Students will strengthen observation skills, improve drawing confidence, and explore line, proportion, and composition in a fun and supportive environment. This is perfect for beginners and serves as an excellent foundation for future perspective drawing experiences.​

Character Vault: Cartoon Classics

June 23 & 24 • 5 - 6PM • Ages 7 and up
​Step into the world of timeless cartoons in this exciting animation art experience. Students will explore how classic cartoon characters are brought to life through bold shapes, expressive features, and dynamic movement. Using drawing, design, and storytelling techniques, students will create character sketches, practice turnarounds, and experiment with simple animation concepts inspired by beloved cartoon styles. This fast-paced class sparks creativity and imagination while building a strong foundation in character design.

City Corners and Skylines

June 23 & 24 • 6 - 8PM • Ages 10 and up
​
The class challenges students to explore two-point perspective, a more advanced drawing technique used to create dynamic city scenes, buildings, and urban environments viewed from dramatic angles. Artists will learn how to draw corners of buildings, streets, and skylines with greater realism and depth. Students will build on their understanding of perspective while refining skills in line control, proportion, and spatial awareness. This class is ideal for motivated artists who have completed Into the Vanishing Point or have previous experience with one-point perspective and are ready for a new creative challenge.

Wicked For Good

Calling all young artists, fashion lovers, and fans of magical worlds! Students will step into the spellbinding world of Wicked. While the film plays in the classroom, artists will explore the exciting basics of fashion drawing, costume design, and character style inspired by the bold personalities and dramatic looks of Oz. From flowing gowns and dramatic capes to heroic and mischievous character details, students will sketch, design, and imagine costumes of their own. This class is perfect for creative kids who love drawing, storytelling, and designing outfits fit for the stage - or a magical adventure.

Portfolio Jump Start

July 8 • 5 - 7PM • Ages 10 and up
​
This session is designed to help middle and high school students prepare for portfolio placement requirements for local art school programs. Students will complete a timed composition drawing based on a still life of three objects of their own choosing, closely mirroring the expectations and environment of an art school testing day. Emphasis will be placed on observation, composition, proportion, and shading, with guided instruction throughout the process. By the end of the session, students will ideally leave with a finished, comprehensive drawing suitable for portfolio submission. This class is best suited for motivated 5th - 8th grade students applying to Cab Calloway School of the Arts or the MOT Charter Art Program.

K-Pop Demon Hunters

July 14 • 5 - 7PM • Ages 8 and up

Step into the electrifying world of K-Pop Demon Hunters! While the film plays in the classroom, students will dive into dynamic fan art and imaginative original character design inspired by the movie’s bold visuals, high-energy action, and K-pop flair. Artists will explore expressive poses, stylized fashion, and character personality as they design heroes, villains, or entirely new demon-hunting idols of their own. This class is perfect for young artists who love animation, music culture, and storytelling through art.​

Color Splash Studio

July 15 • 5 - 7PM • Ages 10 and up
​
Dive into the vibrant world of watercolor in this fun, exploratory class. Students will experiment with a variety of watercolor materials, including traditional watercolor, watercolor gouache, watercolor pencils, and watercolor tissue techniques. Through guided instruction and creative exploration, students will learn how each medium behaves and how to layer, blend, and add detail. Each student will complete their own unique watercolor project to take home, celebrating color, texture, and personal style.

Epic Acrylic Painting

July 20 - 21 • 5 - 7PM • Ages 7 and up
​
This exciting class will give students the opportunity to design and paint their very own pre-cut surfboard using acrylic paint! Working on an approximately 4-foot-long blank canvas, students will explore bold color choices, creative patterns, and personal themes while learning acrylic painting techniques along the way. This student-favorite project encourages big ideas and confident expression, resulting in a one-of-a-kind keepsake that also makes a fun and eye-catching conversation piece at home. There will be a limit of six students due to workspace constraints.

Grid Masters - Realistic Drawing

July 28 • 5 - 7PM • Ages 7 and up
​
Young artists will learn how to create realistic drawings using the grid method, a favorite technique for accurately translating images from photographs or printed references onto paper. By breaking complex images into manageable sections, students will strengthen their observation skills while learning proportion, shape, and detail with confidence. This structured and approachable method allows artists of all levels to achieve impressive results. Each student will go home with a fully completed drawing they can be proud of. This workshop has become a student favorite in our year-long drawing and illustration program and is perfect for artists who enjoy seeing big progress in a short amount of time.

There will be no refunds after the first day of each session. All accounts must be paid in full by the first day of each session or the participant will be removed from the enrollment list and the non-refundable 50% deposit and registration fee of $25.00 per family will be forfeited.
